Taking lessons and practicing will give you a solid foundation. Playing a strong mental game will help your game to flourish. But let's not forget a bit of science and a bit of common sense. Those expensive clubs you just bought have groves on them don't they? That's right just where they make contact with the ball, and of course they are there for a reason. Now if you allow those groves to become clogged with dirt or grit then those golf clubs cease to function. You may as well just add 6 or 7 shots to your total before you even start the round.
